Easter 2013

I didn't take many pictures this year.

Failing to use my "real" camera and just snapping a few pictures with my phone.

But, I did want to post the pictures here for the memory.

We had lunch at my Papa and Granny's;
along with my mom, aunt/uncle, and cousin and her family, as well as two foster children.
It was of course, a fun time.  Three girls under 4-years old and a 9-year old.
We had BBQ pork chops, slaw, creamed potatoes, macaroni & cheese,
baked beans, bread, birthday cake, and red velvet cake.

Chris had already un-tucked his shirt and by looking at his hair he had already started his nap too.  =)

Aubrey was really hamming it up for the camera.  And Laurel is looking pretty as ever. 



Easter - Resurrection Sunday

 

How true!

Without Easter, we would not know salvation, the joy of sins forgiveness,
 and the hope of Heaven.

i've just seen Jesus

Can you imagine witnessing the gruesome crucifixion of Jesus?

His trial.

The cross he carried.

The stripes on His back.

The crown of thorns.

The nails.

The piercing of His side.

What a tortuous, horrible death.

 

But, even more .... after viewing such an awful act,

can you imagine the joy of seeing Jesus ALIVE?

Hearing Him call YOUR name?

Amazement.

Relief.

Faith.

Joy.

 

I can't really imagine even as hard as I try.

But, I know and I believe in full-faith that it happened just as the Bible says.

 

And we too witness Jesus ALIVE today.

Look around you.

Sinners saved by that grace given at Calvary.

Forgiveness.

Sins washed away.

Cast as far as the east is from the west.

Never to be remembered again.

Lives changed.  Turned around.

He called our name, and called us out.

We've never lived 'til we live for Jesus.

 

No doubt, when He was on the cross I was on His mind.

And you were on His mind.

He saw us - His plans to set us free and promise us LIFE eternally.

our Easter 2011

This year we spent Easter day with my Dad's side of the family. Chris had to hurry home for a nap; so we stayed close to home. We enjoyed the day at church celebrating our risen Savior, spending time with our family, and of course, eating good food.

And as always, we had to snap a few pictures in our new Easter attire. I'm not sure why I chose to "cling" to Chris in this picture ... and of course, he chose to look not at all interested! HA! But, quite literally, I am clinging to him -- for life -- forever!!! :)Me and my 'sister.' Love her!! This is a great picture of her -- I don't like it of me so much, but oh well. We had the best time shopping together for our new outfits to wear Easter Sunday.Sweet A-girl with me, her "Aunt Wibi." She insisted on following me outside for pictures. (I think she was afraid that I was leaving)

A little glimpse of our Easter meal: potato salad, green beans, macaroni & cheese, fruit salad, rolls. Honey-glazed ham, chocolate chip pound cake, and fresh strawberry cake were not pictured. See the little bowl in the back of the picture -- that's my personal bowl of potato salad minus onions. Yea, even my Granny spoils me. :)

Mama and her crazy, silly girl! And just a random snap shot of the family on the porch enjoying the beautiful Easter Sunday! The day was perfect --- just as I imagine the first Easter ... sunshine shining brightly, flowers blooming, warmth, and goodness. I'm so thankful for that day long ago when God rocked the cemetery and our Savior came out of the tomb ALIVE! And He lives today ... how do I know? He lives within my heart! :)
