throwback Thursday

Randomly, I decided to "throwback" and find the very first pictures/captions I posted to Facebook after I caved and joined in 2009. 

Also, I'm posting the first pictures I took with my "smart" phone in 2011.

Not throwing it too far back, but just interesting to look back ... especially in technology.

This picture makes me ready for Spring, planting flowers, green grass, etc.

And the "teaser" of warm temperatures has made me even more ready.

The irises in our yard are blooming this week.

This is a previous pastor's daughter (of the church where I work).

While the pastor was on a mission trip;

she stayed with us one afternoon while her mom was working.

She absolutely loved Chris!  She called him her "boyfriend."

Spring is such a beautiful season.

Temperatures are warming.
Flowers are blooming.
I enjoy tending and caring for the flowers in my yard.
The beauty of their blooms is the reward.
No matter how long the winter, spring comes.

I've got spring fever

Mr. Groundhog saw his shadow last week.

So, I say, "Hurry up, spring!"The other weekend we had temps in the upper 60's.
I was anxious to get out of the house and enjoy sunshine.So, I, along with my cousin and her kiddos headed to the park.
Another cousin of mine met me with her little boy,
so that I could babysat while she did some training/testing.
It was interesting to watch the kids interact, get to know each other,
... and learn each others names (this especially for 2-year olds).
After playing at the park,
we stopped in at Dairy Queen for lunch and ice cream.What fun we had!I think I enjoyed the day outdoors as much as the children.

I usually get some every year for my pots.they're great cut-flowers to put in a vase as well.and yes, they are real.
I don't do 'fake flowers' to look real. lol. :)

i (heart) spring

no air on in the house, yet.
we're enjoying the savings on the utility bill.
just 3 open windows.the night air cools things down.
the hot air rises and is trapped in our large attic.

and the house stays pleasant through the day.

and I am loving it.

ahh. fresh air. spring weather.

a 'fern' surprise

each spring,

after I hang ferns across the front porch,
there's always a mama bird
who finds the one hanging on the left, by the flag pole,
to be special enough for her nest.this year is no different.
I'm beginning to wonder if it is the same bird. lol.every time I step out front,
she violently flies away - and we're both scared.

and me, well, I'm not accustomed to the sudden fluttering.
I just need to water her fern-camouflage.
hopefully I'll get pictures of bird babies too!
